MORE II provides short cuts to navigate through the headlines in an outline view and through the series of charts in a bullet chart view. Listed below are some basic navigation and editing short cuts. See “Appendix B” in the MORE II Reference for a more extensive list of navigation short cuts.
In Outline View
Command-L or Shift-Tab
Moves headline up, one level to the left. In document windows, it deletes a tab stop.
Command-R or Tab
Moves headline down, one level to the right. In document windows, it inserts a tab stop.
Option-Tab
In headlines, it inserts a tab stop.
Return
In headlines, creates a new headline. In document windows, it inserts a carriage return.
Option-Return
In headlines, inserts a carriage return at the insertion point, without creating a new headline.
Drag on text
Selects a text block.
Double-click on word
Selects the word.
Triple-click
Selects the sentence.
Enter or Shift-Enter
Expands or collapses a document window.
Command-Return
Splits a headline at the insertion point.
Command-Backspace
Joins two headlines at the same level, when the cursor is at the beginning of a headline.
Shift-Command-Backspace
Joins two headlines at the same level, when the cursor is at the end of a headline.
In Bullet Chart View
Option-Command-I
Moves between the current bullet chart and the headline in the outline that corresponds to the chart title.
Home or Command-left cursor arrow
Displays the first chart.
End or Command-right cursor arrow
Displays the last chart.
Right cursor arrow
Displays the next chart
Left cursor arrow
Displays the previous chart.
Spacebar
Switches between slide-show and regular bullet chart views
Command-. (period)
Stops a self-running slide show.
Command
Restarts a self-running slide-show.
Command-Shift
Jumps to the end of a self-running slide show.
Navigating in Slide Shows
Click outside chart text or right cursor arrow
Displays next chart, or next build of the same chart.
Shift-Click or left cursor arrow
Displays previous chart, or previous build of the same chart.
Double-click on a chart subhead
Displays the chart where that subhead is the title.
Double-click on a chart title
Displays the chart where that title is a subhead.
Single-click on a subhead
Displays the subhead in full intensity if that chart is a build
